You don’t need to know how to dial in a compressor to get a punchy rap vocal. You just need to know what you want it to sound like.

The Preset Library is your collection of pre-mixed chains — expertly crafted “recipes” that instantly apply EQ (tone), compression (dynamics), saturation (warmth), and effects to your track.

1. How to Access Presets

Presets work at the Stem Level — meaning on individual tracks like Lead Vocals, Drums, Guitars, etc.

1. Click on any track in the Studio View (e.g., Lead Vocals).
2. The Preset Browser will open automatically.
3. Choose and apply any preset.

2. The Three Types of Presets

The browser is divided into three tabs:

A. Cryo Presets (The Chef’s Specials)

These are the official, engineer-verified presets built by our team. They change based on the Vibe/Genre you selected during onboarding.

• General Presets: Show up for everyone, regardless of genre. They’re utility tools.

  • Examples: “Clean & Polished,” “Vocal Clarity,” “De-Mud.”

• Genre-Specific Presets: Appear in addition to the general ones and are tailored to your style.

  • If you chose Hip-Hop: You might see “Modern Trap Sheen” or “Boom Bap Crunch.”
  • If you chose Pop: You might see “Radio Ready” or “80s Retro.”

B. Your Presets (Your Custom Recipes)

Tweaked a Cryo preset and love the result? Save it for later.

• After adjusting settings in the Advanced Panel, click the Save icon.
• Name your preset (e.g., “My Signature Vocal”).
• It will appear in the Your Presets tab for use in future projects.

C. Community Presets (Explore)

See how other artists are mixing.

• This tab shows presets created and shared by other Cryo Mix users.
• Great for discovering experimental, unique, or trending sounds that go beyond the official library.
• If you don’t like one, just switch to another preset — nothing in your project is permanently changed.

3. How Presets Work with Advanced Settings

Think of a preset as a starting point, not the finish line.

• Select a Preset: Start with something close (e.g., “Bright Pop Vocal”).
• Tweak it: Switch to the Advanced Settings tab. You’ll see that the preset has moved the sliders and controls to specific positions.
• Customize: Adjust anything you like. If “Bright Pop” is too bright, just turn down the Highs slider. You can always change presets or reset the settings if needed.

Pro Tip: If you select a genre during onboarding (like Rock), we prioritize matching presets at the top of your list. But you’re never locked in — you can always search or browse General presets if you want to try a different flavor on your track.
