Welcome to the final polish.
If youโve already mixed your song in another software (like Logic, Ableton, or FL Studio) and just need that final, radio-ready sparkle, you donโt need the full Mixing Studio. You need the Mastering Tool.
Think of this as the โpresentationโ phase. The cooking is done; now weโre framing the dish to make it look (and sound) perfect for the world.
1. The Upload: One Track Only
Navigate to the AI Mastering page.
- The input: Unlike the Mixing Studio, here you only upload one file โ your finished stereo mix.
- Format: We accept high-quality WAV or MP3 files.
- Pro tip: Make sure your mix isnโt clipping (hitting the red / distorting). Leave a little headroom (around -3 to -6 dB) so Nova has space to work.
2. The Processing
Click โStart Mastering.โ
- Nova analyzes your trackโs genre, dynamic range, and tonal balance.
- Youโll see her working through the stages: Analysis โ Processing โ Final Touch.
- After that, your waveform updates to show the new, maximized loudness.
3. The Taste Test (Review)
Before you download, use your ears.
- The "Magic Switch" (Before / After): Toggle this to hear the difference between your raw upload and Novaโs master. You should hear more volume, clarity, and width.
4. Fine-Tuning: Presets & Advanced Master Settings
If the default master isnโt quite right, you have two options:
a) Use the Preset Library (quick & easy)
- Choose from a preset library tailored for common use cases (like louder, warmer, brighter).
- Perfect if you donโt want to tweak every parameter manually but still want a master that fits your style.
- Just pick a preset, listen, and keep the one that feels right.
b) Manual control with Advanced Master
Click โAdvanced Masterโ to open the detailed controls:
- EQ Correction: Automatically reduces harsh frequencies while enhancing pleasant ones.
- Highs: Controls brightness and clarity in the top end.
- Mids: Shapes body and presence in the middle frequencies.
- Lows: Adjusts warmth and fullness in the low-end.
- Loudness: Controls overall output level.
- Width: Controls how wide or focused the stereo image feels โ increase for a bigger, more spacious sound, decrease for a tighter, more centered mix.
5. Mastering Analytics: See What Nova Actually Did
After mastering, open Mastering Analytics to see a detailed breakdown of the process.
- Step-by-step timeline: See when Nova applied which settings (e.g. EQ changes, loudness adjustments, width enhancements).
- Before vs. after insights: Understand how your dynamics, tone, and loudness changed through mastering.
- Actionable recommendations: Get suggested tweaks for next time โ for example, if your mix was too bright, too bass-heavy, or already very compressed before mastering.
- This turns mastering from a โblack boxโ into a learning tool, helping you improve both your mix and your next master.
6. Export & Extras
Happy with the sound and the analytics? Head to the Download section.
- Final Master: Download your high-quality, streaming-ready WAV file.
- Rate Your Master: Give Nova a thumbs up or down. She learns from your feedback to make your next master even better.
